Medieval German IV/13c
I recently finished a IV/13c Medieval German DBA army in 15mm scale.
This army is a matched pair for my French Ordonnance army.
Most of the figures in this army are Roundway.
The army consists of: 1x 6Kn (Gen), 2x 6Kn, 1x 3Cv, 2x 4Pk, 2x 4Sp, 2x 4Cb, 1x 2Ps, 1x Art
I wanted a distinctive leader for this army, but it seems that during this time the emperor did not take the field and instead let his captains carry the imperial banner.
I chose Ludwig the Black to fight in the emperor’s stead, as he was the nemesis of the rebel Frederich the Victorious.
All of the Knights are Roundway, except for the leader, which is a Museum Miniatures casting.
The Pikemen are in the livery of the Fuggers, who by the looks of it, funded this unit.
The spearmen boast the colors of Brandenburg in front and Weissenburg behind.
Pikemen are Roundway and the spearmen are Minifigs.
The Cavalry and psiloi units. The cavalry are Roundway and psiloi are Essex.
I wanted an organ gun that didn’t have the wolf-head spikes on them so I modified an Essex organ gun.
All the crossbowmen and the and gun crew are Roundway.
