Post-Mongol Samurai IV/59b

I picked up this army at Historicon in July and decided to paint these up for the Trudgefest DBA Tourney at Hurricon.
The Trudgefest Tourney only allows you to use a maximum of one mounted element, so these guys were a perfect candidate.

They are all composed of 15mm figures from the new Peter Pig Samurai line.
Once I saw this figures in person, I could not pass up the chance to paint them up.

This army consists of a 4Bd (Gen), 1x 3Cv, 5x 4Bd, and 5x 3Sp. I based the banners on the army of Uesugi Kenshin at the Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima in 1561. Although later than the end of the DBA lists, I will be adding elements later to morph this army into a HOTT army and a DBx one.

Blade elements in the front, Spear in the back.

Each one of the stands has a different banner from the battle of Kawanakajima.Additionaly, each Blade stand has a leader or hero figure on the extreme right of each stand. This gave all of the Blade elements a lot of individuality.

Another view of the General’s element. I really enjoyed painting this army and the variety and character that many of the figures have. Check out the figure fourth from the right who is getting ready to play “Whack-a-Mole”.

The lone Cavalry element. They have the “radish banners” that were used by Kakizaki Kageie at the 4th Battle of Kawanakajima.

The five stands of Ashigaru (3Sp). I would have made the option of monks (5 Wb), but Peter Pig does not make figures for these yet.
